The short answer

  • We post to 6 platforms: your Google Business Profile, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn.
  • Your part: about 5 to 10 minutes to set up. Now and then, drag job photos and videos into a link we send you.
  • Videos are edited with voiceover and captions, posts are tagged with your location, and captions are written with the words people search for.
  • Social posting here is organic. We don’t manage paid ads.
  • Social media is one part of what we run. The same plan covers review requests after every job, Google Business Profile optimization, AI search tracking and a progress report every two weeks.
Platforms

Where your posts go: all 6 platforms

We cover all six from one plan. Your Google Business Profile is on the list on purpose: Google says posts there share “announcements, offers, updates, and event details directly with your customers on Search and Maps.”

Content

Where the content comes from

For a contractor, the work itself is the material: the finished install, the crew on site, the before and after. Google’s photo guidelines also ask for real images: in focus, well lit, with no significant alterations or excessive use of filters. “In other words, the image should represent reality.”

Video

What each platform asks for in a video

Several of these platforms publish their own advice for business video. Here is what four of them say, in their own words.

YouTube

YouTube’s Shorts tools make “short-form videos that are up to 3 minutes long,” and “You can upload vertical videos saved to your computer or smartphone as Shorts.”

TikTok

TikTok’s creative guidance, written for its ads, starts with the basics: “using sound/ music, orienting vertically at 9:16, shooting at least 720P resolution.” It also says to “Prioritize your hook in the first 6 seconds” and to “Use captions or text overlays to provide context.”

LinkedIn

LinkedIn’s own marketing blog says: “Always include subtitles: LinkedIn research shows that only around a third of people watching videos on mobile have the sound on at the time.” And: “Show what you want to show in the first ten seconds.”

Google Business Profile

Google’s video guidelines for your Business Profile: up to 30 seconds long, 720p or higher.

Two of the four ask for captions or subtitles by name. We edit your videos with voiceover and captions.

Google’s rules for Business Profile posts

Google says that after you publish a post, “Google reviews it to make sure it meets our posts content policy.” Here are the ones worth knowing before you post.

  • Your phone number in the post text. Google says “we may remove posts with unverified contact information. This includes phone numbers, email addresses, and social media handles.” A Call now button instead “uses your verified Business Profile phone number so customers can contact you.”
  • Posting once and stopping. “Posts older than 6 months are archived unless a date range is set.”

The rest of the profile side is covered in Google Business Profile management for contractors.
