SMS consent for review requests
Omnipresent (Momentum Media LLC, dba Omnipresent Marketing, San Diego, CA, https://www.omnipresent.app) makes the software a local service business uses to ask its own customers for a review. After a completed job, the business's customer receives a short text or email inviting them to leave a review.
Each business texts from its own toll-free number, verified by the carriers in that business's own legal name and used by that business alone. The customer is opting in to hear from the business they hired, not from Omnipresent. Every text carries "Powered by Omnipresent" or an omnipresent.app link so the software behind it is identified.
Carrier verification of a new number takes weeks. Until it clears, a business sends its review requests by email only.
How a customer opts in
- The customer gives their mobile number to the business at the time of service, on the business's intake form, estimate, invoice, or web form.
- That form carries the consent disclosure shown below, and the customer checks the box or signs.
- The business confirms, when it uploads or adds a customer, that the customer gave this consent.
- Only then is a review request sent. Typical frequency: one to three messages per completed job. No marketing or promotional texts are sent under this program.
Consent disclosure used on the business's form
This is the exact wording that appears next to the consent checkbox on the business's form:
By providing your mobile number, you agree to receive text messages from [Business Name] asking for feedback about your service. Message frequency varies, typically 1 to 3 messages per job. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase. See our Privacy Policy and Terms.
Example of a review request
A customer who opted in receives a message like this:
Hi Chris, thanks for choosing Dale's Plumbing. Would you take 30 seconds to leave a quick review? https://www.omnipresent.app/r/abc123 Powered by Omnipresent. Reply STOP to opt out.
Opting out
Replying STOP to any message ends all texts from that number immediately. Replying HELP returns contact information. A customer can also ask the business directly to be removed. Mobile numbers and consent records are never sold or shared with third parties for their own marketing.
